Step by Step Instructions to Install WordPress from cPanel
Step 1: Log in to your cPanel Account
Go to the URL “www.Your_domain_name.com/cpanel” in a new browser session. The Your_domain_name in the above URL is your primary domain name and don’t forget to change this while execution. You will receive a unique username and password from your web hosting provider. Enter the credentials to your cPanel admin dashboard. If you forget your password, cPanel provides an option to reset your password with simplified procedures.
Step 2: Search for Softaculous Scripts Installer
After successful login, there will be a separate section available for Softaculous Application Installer and it displays multiple script files to download respective web application frameworks. If there are no such sections displayed, Use the search tab in the admin page by using the search term “Softaculous”. Select WordPress from the list of scripts available.
Step 3: WordPress Installation Page
Now you will be redirected to the WordPress Installation page as shown below with the detailed description of the WordPress framework. This page also contains the Overview, features, screenshots, Demo, Ratings and Reviews of WordPress. In the bottom, you will find the “Install now” button. Click on that button to proceed with the Installation Process.
Step 4: Setting up the Site and Admin details
In this step, you have to fill all the essential details of the site like the WordPress version in the software version tab. If you have an SSL certificate for your website, you can select the “https://” in the protocol tab, your primary domain name in the domain tab, and If you are installing WordPress for your primary domain, Keep the directory tab empty. Provide the framework name to your convenience at directory tab for better management. Here we are providing the name as WordPress for better understanding.
Enter the Site name and a short description of the site in the Site description tab. In the next section, Set the Admin username and Admin password. It is recommended to give a strong password for the site’s security purposes. Also, provide the admin email in this section for further communications. Step 5: Select Plugins and Themes for website
WordPress extends its functionalities through themes and plugins. There are unlimited options for themes which have all necessary functions predefined in it. For special functionalities, respective plugins are available. The list of plugins will be displayed and you can select the plugins whatever you find necessary to the website that you are building
Step 6: Click on the Install Button
At the bottom of the page, you will find the Install button. Once you are done selecting the respective theme and the necessary plugins for your site, click on the Install button.
Now you will find a screen like this displaying the status of WordPress Installation Process. Don’t close the window or turn off the system while this process is taking place.
